Recertification for doctors on a vocational scope of practice
If you hold a vocational scope you must participate in the continual professional development (CPD) programme offered by the medical college responsible for your area of vocational practice.
The specialist medical colleges manage and administer the training and recertification programmes for each vocational area of medicine. The Medical Council accredits these programmes against the relevant standards. When you've completed the training and examination requirements you'll be awarded a Fellowship of the specialist college, and that is your specialist qualification.
If you hold a vocational registration you must participate in the continual professional development (CPD) programme offered by the medical college responsible for your area of vocational practice. The medical colleges offer these programmes and we accredit them. We also check that doctors comply with the requirements of the programme relevant to their scope of practice.
